Disabled woman fuming after finding horrid note on car from ‘ignorant person’

A disabled woman was left fuming after a 'narrow-minded ignorant person' left a horrid note on her car whilst it was parked.

Helen, from Bury, has a blue badge allowing her to park in disabled parking spaces.

She was shocked after finding a note written in aggressive block capitals last Sunday (February 27) which read: "Your BB has been taken and reported to the ticket office."

Helen has undergone numerous spinal surgeries as a result of her 'really bad back', and also has nerve damage in her legs, reports Manchester Evening News.

"Just because I’m young and not in wheelchair doesn’t mean I’m not entitled to a blue badge," she said.

On Sunday she decided to go for a quick stroll in the park to help manage her back.

"They obviously saw me, saw that I'm in my 40s, walking away," she explained.

"And I just thought they've got no idea what my circumstances are."

Helen recently lost a friend to cancer and she had a blue badge too.

"What if I had been her, and I was here to take my last walk ever, and I came back to this message? How rude can some people be."

This isn't the first time Helen has been confronted about her blue badge.

She says that whenever she goes to Tesco she gets people staring at her – and that she confronts people when they do.

She recalled: "Someone once said to me 'are you travelling around with a dead relative's blue badge?'"

Helen used to have a blue badge for her son too, who has autism.

She remembers a time when her son was six or seven and a man with a stick called her a 'f***ing b**ch'.

Helen says she reacted by shoving her blue badge in his face and asking 'are you happy now?'.

She said in other circumstances she would confront people by saying things like 'do you want to see the scars down my back?'.

There was no way for Helen to respond to the person who left this note at Heaton Park.

But, Helen says she knows whoever left the note has 'absolutely no life'.
