Emmerdale star Mark Jordon denies biting pensioner’s face in pub row as he appears in court over GBH charge

The actor, the soap's Daz Spencer, pleaded not guilty during a brief appearance at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester.

He arrived at the court with his partner and co-star Laura Norton, 35, who plays Kerry Wyatt in the soap.

He is accused of attacking 68-year-old Andy Potts after an alleged row at The Farrars Arms in Oldham, Greater Manchester, on July 1.

The 53-year-old actor, who has also starred in TV series Heartbeat, denies wounding and common assault against Mr Potts, who suffered injuries including a bite in the incident on July 1 which began in a pub in Oldham.

Most of the hearing was taken up with administrative matters, including discussion of CCTV and police bodycam footage, ahead of a trial, now scheduled for July 29 next year.

Judge Mark Savill granted Jordon, of Dobcross, Oldham, unconditional bail until his trial.

His lawyer told a previous hearing at Tameside Magistrates' Court, in Ashton-under-Lyne, he was indicating not guilty pleas to GBH and common assault.

The 53-year-old – who also starred in TV's Heartbeat – was granted unconditional bail last month.

Jordon was arrested after the alleged attack in Oldham, Gtr Manchester.

Mr Potts claims he was savaged three times by the soap actor – including once in the face.

Jordon, 53 — who plays ex-squaddie Daz Spencer —  reportedly faces the axe if found guilty. GBH convictions often carry jail terms.

Police later confirmed: “Jordon is charged with GBH and common assault.”

The dad of two, formerly PC Phil Bellamy in ITV’s Heartbeat, joined Emmerdale in 2014.

He is dating Ms Norton, 35, who plays Kerry Wyatt.
