Fitness model shot in head and stabbed multiple times in brutal murder

A fitness model and trainer has been found dead after she was stabbed several times and shot in the head at her home in the Mexican state of Baja California over the weekend.

The body of 23-year-old Alondra Getsemani Villasenor was found by her mum at her house in Pedregal de Santa Julia Street in the city of Tijuana, north-western Mexico, on Sunday.

Local media reports state the mum, who has not been named, went to her daughter's house after she tried to contact her but received no answer.

When she arrived at the home her daughter was already dead.

Local authorities said the victim was discovered with several stab wounds and a bullet wound to the head.

They believed Villasenor, who worked in a local gym as a trainer, had likely been dead for more than 24 hours before her mum found her on Sunday.

Police reportedly found two bags of cannabis and the shell of a 9mm calibre bullet at the scene.

Witnesses told local authorities a man had left the house and driven away in a red car.

The investigation is ongoing and so far no suspects, or motives, have been identified and no arrests have been made.

According to the Executive Secretary of the National Public Security System, 155 women have been murdered in the state of Baja California this year.

The state is fourth on the list for most murder cases of women in the country behind Mexico state, Guanajuato, and Jalisco.
