Football-mad boy, 12, found 'safe and well' more than 24 hours after going missing on school trip

Soccer-mad Josh Davies, 12, was missing for more than 24 hours, sparking a police search as his mum said she was going "insane" with worry.

Classmates reported him missing at 2.40pm on Monday after a visit to Trafford Soccer Dome in Manchester.

He was last seen on CCTV at 5pm getting on a bus to Piccadilly Gardens wearing a black hoodie, black tracksuit bottoms and blue trainers.

Frantic mum Julie Mallinson, of Stalybridge, Greater Manchester, said yesterday: "I just want him to be safe. I just want him to come home.

"Whilst you are out and about today doing your shopping, going to the post office, filling up your car with petrol, going to work, picking the kids up from school, nipping out to the butty van for lunch, please keep your eyes peeled.

"Josh could be standing next to you. He blends in. He's just another kid kicking a ball around. Please keep looking for Josh."

The youngster was not thought to have been carrying cash, a bank card or mobile phone.

Last night cops said the youngster had been found safe and well.
