Two people were killed and five others wounded in three separate gun battles in the Bronx and Brooklyn, police and sources said Wednesday.
Three people were shot when a gunman opened fire around 10 p.m. in front of 971 Prospect Ave. in Morrisania, including a 26-year-old man who was shot in the chest and back. A 17-year-old man also suffered a life threatening gunshot wound to the head.
Both were taken to Lincoln Hospital, where the elder succumbed to his injuries and the teen was listed in critical condition, police said.
A third man, 29, was shot in the right leg. He was taken St. Barnabas Hospital in serious condition.
The men were attacked following a dispute, police sources said. Police are looking for a man in his 20s, who fled in a car, sources said.
In Brooklyn, police were called to East 51st Street near Church Avenue in East Flatbush, where a 27-year-old man was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Earlier in the night, gunfire erupted near the intersection of Troy Avenue and Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights around 8:30 p.m. Three men told police they were standing in the area when an unknown man opened fire following an argument, police and sources said.
A 22-year-old was shot in the arm and suffered a graze wound to his head while a 49-year-old was shot once in his foot, and a 54-year-old was struck in his hand.
They were taken to Kings County Hospital for their injuries, police said.
