Huge delays on M25 after 10-vehicle pile up involving lorry and horse box

A 10-vehicle pile up involving a lorry and a horse box has caused huge delays on the M25.

Motorists are facing 50-minute waits in sweltering temperatures of 24 degrees following the crash.

Drivers intending to travel on the motorway have been told to arm themselves with water as they face waiting for almost an hour as emergency services deal with the collision.

The crash – said to include a lorry, a horsebox and several vehicles, took place between J14 A3113 Airport Way / Horton Road (Heathrow Terminal 4) and J15 M4.

London Ambulance Service (LSA) said they are treating one person at the scene.

"We were called at 11 am to M25 near junction 15 to reports of a traffic collision.

"We sent one ambulance crew and an incident response officer," a LAS spokeswoman told the Mirror Online.

All traffic has been held as emergency services deal with the crash and the motorway is freed of debris.

A spokesman for Highways England said: "Carriageway is blocked on the #M25 clockwise between J14 and J15 near #WestDrayton following a collision involving multiple vehicles.

"Our #TrafficOfficers are at scene working to clear the vehicles involved."

One motorist tweeted: "Avoid the M25 clockwise between junction 14 and 15 if you can. Traffic been at a standstill for 45 mins."
