Hunt for yobs who burned dog beyond recognition so RSPCA couldn't even work out its breed

HEARTLESS thugs who set fire to a dog on a pile of fly-tipped rubbish are being hunted by the RSPCA.

The animal was so badly charred officers couldn't even figure out what breed it was.

It was found on top of a torched pile of rubbish in Middlesbrough by a horrified member of the public on October 6.

The RSPCA is now hunting the sickos who set fire to the tragic pooch.

They say the dog appears to be medium to large-sized and a black and tan colour.

Inspector Ruth Thomas-Coxon said: "Unfortunately, due to the fire damage to the body, it’s difficult to determine much more about the dog.

"That’s why we’re appealing to the public for any information that may help us establish where this poor dog has come from and whether he or she has died in suspicious circumstances.

“What isn’t clear at this time is whether the dog was alive or already dead when set on fire so it’s obviously incredibly important to establish this and whether this dog suffered at the hands of someone.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the RSPCA’s appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
