Half a dozen internet cafes in Curee Baroh village in the Aceh Province, which enforces Islamic Shaira law, have been told to pull the plug immediately.
Officials are said to have witnessed children hanging out in the cafes and viewing porn using a service costing the equivalent of only 16p for five hours' use.
They added that the service was damaging local children's morals.
Curee Baroh, which has a population of 900, is yet to settle on a punishment for cafes that defy the order banning the cheap internet service which was announced on Friday.
Village head Helmiadi Mukhtaruddin told AFP: "In the past, kids would recite the Koran after evening prayers but since WiFi has become available, they're hanging out in these shops instead.
"They're accessing pornographic images and other sites, which is very damaging to their morals."
The village is located in the district of Bireuen, which caused controversy in September when it banned unmarried men and women from eating meals together unsupervised.
Women in the district on Sumatra island are not allowed to share a table with men at restaurants and coffee shops unless the're accompanied by their husband or a close male relative.
This includes co-workers on a lunch break who are also banned from eating together.
Bireuen is included in the Aceh Province, the only region in the most populous Muslim-majority country in the world that imposes Islamic law.
The area has previously come under fire for whipping people for breaking laws forbidding homosexuality, drinking alcohol and gambling.
Earlier this year a couple had raw sewage poured on their heads after they were caught having extramarital sex.
