I've been left a 'shell of a person' after sick stalker bombarded me with messages from 50 accounts, Miss England says

A FORMER Miss England was bombarded with messages from 50 accounts during a nine-month stalking campaign.

Stephanie Hill, 27, said she has become "a shell of a person" after being sent sexually explicit content, pictures and diagrams.

Dhawal Chaudhary, also 27, also spoke about them having grandchildren and told her he would move from India to Britain to live with her.

He made new accounts to message her from whenever she blocked him and created fake Instagram pages to tag her in posts, which eventually became the only way he could contact her.

Prosecutor Sarah Slater told Derby crown court: "It was relentless and took all the joy out of her job and helping people."

Chaudhary first contacted her in October 2020 before sending strange messages because she was not replying quickly.

Ms Hill, who was crowned Miss England in 2017, reckons he became infatuated with her when she went to India in 2018 to undertake work for her social media channels.

She tried to change her name and act like she had left the company she was working for.

But Chaudhary said days later he was going to travel to the UK, study for an MBA and find her to get a flat and live together.

He also created a group chat with her and her partner Daniel Harper, telling them he was going to move to the UK from India.

Mr Harper was bombarded with messages when he failed to respond and an Instagram page was set up titled: "We will kill Daniel Harper if he doesn't stay away from Stephanie Hill."

She completely removed herself from social media after being bullied on a Justice for Sarah Everard page, which he also set up.

He alleged she was a sex worker, that Mr Harper was cheating on her and also set up a Spotify playlist.

Miss Hill said: "I wouldn't want anyone to live like I have over the last nine months, I've been worn away into a shell of a person.

"I find no joy in doing anything as I feel I have to watch my every movement.

"I was a strong and confident person before but I've never had anyone treat me like this."

Chaudhary, who was arrested at Heathrow Airport in July 2021, admitted stalking involving serious alarm or distress, and putting a person in fear of violence.

He was handed a hospital order, an unlimited restraining order and a restriction order when he appeared at court via video link from a low-security centre in Nottingham.

Judge Shaun Smith called him a "danger to the public" and said that he believed his crimes were a result of his mental illness.
