Man charged with impaired driving in Whitchurch-Stouffville crash that injured 4 kids

WHITCHURCH-STOUFFVILLE, Ont. – Police have laid impaired driving charges against a 47-year-old man after a crash north of Toronto that sent four children to hospital.

York Regional Police say two vehicles collided in the town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ont., at around 8:20 a.m. Thursday.

In one of the vehicles, officers found a woman and four children between the ages of seven and 13, and all five were taken to hospital

The driver and lone occupant of the other vehicle had to be pulled from the wreck and taken to hospital.

Police say he now faces charges including impaired driving and impaired operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm.

He’s due to appear in court in Newmarket, Ont., later this month.
