Man City break Liverpool hearts by securing Premier League title – fans go WILD

Wild scenes broke out in the away end at the Amex Stadium, where City beat Brighton 1-4.

It means Pep Guardiola’s side are the first top-flight team to secure back-to-back Premier League titles since Manchester United in 2009.

City players beamed wide smiles and congratulated each other after securing a resounding 98 points.

Fans quickly rushed to social media to celebrate following goals from Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez and Ikay Gundogan.

Those goals came despite City falling 1-0 down to the Seagulls, who were overpowered by their opponent’s clinical eye for goal.

And pundit Gary Lineker said: “Congratulations to Man City on being the first club to retain the Premier League title for 10 years.

“A simply magnificent season. Congratulations too to Liverpool.

“To finish 2nd on 97 points with only one defeat is extraordinary. A simply magnificent season.”
