Man fatally stabbed on Hell’s Kitchen street

A man was found fatally stabbed early Monday in the middle of a Hell’s Kitchen street – and police are on the hunt for the killer, authorities said.

The victim’s bloodied bloody was discovered on West 46th Street near Ninth Avenue by a cabbie who was driving through the area shortly before 3 a.m., cops said.

The hack, identified as Salman Malik, initially thought there was just garbage in the roadway, but then realized it was a man after he got closer, according to PIX11.

He told the news outlet he thought the man was drunk before noticing blood coming from an injury to the victim’s chest.

The mortally wounded man was gasping for air, but stopped breathing after about a minute, Malik said.

Police said the cabbie at first believed the victim had been run over by a car and he quickly called 911.

First responders found the man unconscious and unresponsive with a stab wound to the left side of his chest and trauma to the left side of his face, according to cops.

The victim, who police say is in his mid-30s, about 200 pounds and 5-foot-5, was rushed to Mount Sinai West where he was pronounced dead.

The man’s identity was not released pending family notification.

There were no immediate arrests and investigators are canvassing the scene for surveillance footage.

Meanwhile, roughly two hours after the victim’s body was found, cops say a 22-year-old man was shot outside of Orbit New York – a dance club a few blocks away.

The man was shot in the left leg after having a dispute with someone outside the West 50th Street nightspot, police said.

He took himself to Mount Sinai West where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
