Prince Harry and Meghan Markle having their royal titles taken away yet under-fire Prince Michael retaining his privileges "looks bad", a supporter of the couple has told a podcast.
The Sussexes were forced to drop their royal patronages and honorary titles after they decided to leave the UK and start a new life in the United States.
At the same time, Prince Michael has retained his title and palace home despite being accused of using his royal status for personal profit by the Sunday Times and Channel 4.
The Queen's cousin was filmed at a meeting in which undercover reporters were told he could be hired to make representations to the Kremlin.
Prince Michael, 78, has denied all of the claims against him.
Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie on the Royally Obsessed podcast both said that it is a bad image for the Royal Family at a sensitive moment following Prince Philip’s death.

"We have seen Harry and Meghan – they lost their honorary military titles, they lost their patronages, they lost so much and yet Prince Michael who is now (allegedly) exposed by undercover reporters still has his honorary titles, still has security, still living in a gorgeous apartment in the palace.
Prince Charles 'to open up royal palaces to public when he becomes King'
"It’s bad, it’s a really bad look, and for the Queen to deal with this right now…"
Roberta added that this latest piece of negative news for the royals backs up Prince Charles' hopes to reduce the size of the Royal Family.
She said: "This adds fuel to the flames of Prince Charles’ argument that it should be a slimmed-down monarchy."
The view was also felt by co-host Rachel who added: "This guy shouldn’t be on the balcony with the Queen."
