Meghan Markle is up for an Emmy Award and could become the first Royal to be nominated

The royal bride, 36, has been listed on the nominations ballot for Best Drama Supporting Actress for her role in legal show Suits.

Votes are being cast and if she gets enough, Meghan could make the shortlist of six to be announced next month.

The Duchess of Sussex — who married Harry, 33, at Windsor Castle last month — played Rachel Zane from the first episode of the US drama in 2011.

She left this spring in the Season 7 finale.

PRs for USA Network, which produces Suits, confirmed Meghan’s listing. An LA TV source confirmed: “She’s one of the names in the early ballot.

“While her show is far from big Stateside, her media presence has been enormous and drawn new eyes to her work.

“It’s a long shot for her to make the final six, but Emmys bosses and execs at NBC, who will broadcast the ceremony, admit they want nothing better.

“The show always celebrates actors who have made an impact socially on the world stage.

“The royal wedding scored huge ratings and getting her there would certainly make the event bigger than ever.”
