A mother struggling with her children in a supermarket was ‘overwhelmed’ when a total stranger handed her a £10 voucher and said: ‘Wine aisle is 23’.

Zoe Langer was in Sainsbury’s with her daughter and not having the most enjoyable of shopping trips when she was handed a note by another woman.

Inside was a voucher for £10 alongside the message: ‘You’re doing a wonderful job. Wine aisle is 23.’ The note was signed ‘from one mum to another’.

Zoe, from Bury, Greater Manchester, later shared her story in a mothers’ Facebook group thank the woman responsible.

She wrote: ‘So totally overwhelmed! Most divine girl has obviously seen me struggling with my monkey of a little girl and handed me this note with a voucher to buy myself some wine!

Hundreds of mothers liked her post as dozens left comments praising the kind gesture.

One wrote: ‘How lovely. Just shows there are still some nice people in the world.’

Another added: ‘Beautiful. Us mommas got to stick together.’
