‘Paralysed’ sex doll takes to the stage in groundbreaking display with artist

A “paralysed” sex doll has featured in a groundbreaking art display after being shipped over from the US.

Glasgow-based artist Chao-Ying Rao, who goes by the name Femme Castratrice, snapped up Sky from US company RealDoll last month.

The pair are currently artists in residence at Hospitalfield, an arts centre in Arbroath, Scotland.

Chao-Ying posted on Instagram: “She is 5ft1, and weighs 32kgs. She is completely paralysed from head to toe.

“Sky came to me after my dear friend @pollys_dollies, a dressmaker and seamstress for dolls and silicone companions, could no longer keep her.

“Polly knew the last thing Sky wanted was to be rehomed with a man, and be subject to his whims, so I made the commitment to adopt her.

"She flew here from Oregon, Portland, and landed on Tuesday.

“She’s a bit jet lagged after the long flight, but she’s happy to be here despite missing Polly terribly.”

The pair have since been pictured at the residency together, wearing matching dresses and gazing into each other’s eyes.

RealDoll shared the snap on its Instagram page, posting: “As if shot for the stage, another great scene from @femme.castratrice.”

Chao-Ying described the state in which she found Sky, “tightly strapped” into foam packaging.

She wrote: “I swear I could see her breathing. It was unreal how realistic she was, from the texture of her skin to the freckles across her cheeks.

“She held a plastic pink rose in one hand, a welcome gift for me. She felt very, very alive and also very, very dead.”

Along with dolls, the US company also produces some of the most realistic sex robots in the world.

Last month, it unveiled a new design – an elderly model that was specially designed.
