The Queen’s Covid scare will not deter the Royal Family from being an “example” following the Government's expected relaxing of restrictions, a royal expert has insisted.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the Queen would continue to carry out “light duties” despite showing “mild cold like” symptoms.
Despite calls from royal fans for the reigning monarch to rest, it seems as though The Firm look set to carry on as normal as Kate Middleton looks to continue onto her trip to Copenhagen, Denmark.
Her Majesty tested positive for Covid on Sunday but a royal commentator and deputy editor of Royal Central Brittani Barger believes the Royal Family will “want to lead by example” as we slowly get back to “normal”.
“The UK is getting ready to end their mandates regarding Covid. I think the royals will follow whatever national guidelines there are in regards to attending engagements and travelling, “ Brittani told the Daily Star.
“They will want to lead by example, and if the government lifts restrictions, the royals can show their support and how life is slowly getting back to normal.”
Is the Queen vaccinated for Covid – and is the monarch experiencing symptoms?
There have been Concerns for the Queen, 95, following a health scare in October last year.
The positive test for Her Majesty’s is the latest in a string of cases for the Royal Family and staff at Windsor Castle,
Prince Charles recently tested positive in the week he met the Queen and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall is also currently isolating after contracting the virus.
When do all Covid rules and self-isolation laws end in England?
Brittani believes the Queen’s positive test will not cause many changes with regards to engagements and on the celebrations in June, despite the concern from fans.
She said: “I think anyone who is in their 90s who gets Covid is going to cause concern with those close to them. However, The Queen has the best doctors around her, and they will keep a close eye on her as she battles the virus.
“She's fully vaccinated, so that provides a bit more comfort knowing that she does have that little bit of protection to help her. Hopefully, with the vaccines, she will continue to only have a mild case.
“I think the Queen undertaking engagements from now until June all depends on her health and how the pandemic continues. If she is well and cases continue to drop, I think we will see her at some engagements before June.”
