Russel Brand has claimed that “troubling” ties between Joe Biden’s son and businesses in Ukraine and China were “kept it out of the news” in the run-up to the 2020 US Presidental elections. Mr Brand fired the accusation during an interview with journalist Glenn Greenwald on his Youtube channel. The pair discussed allegations surrounding Hunter Biden’s business links with China, and his time working at Ukrainian energy firm Burisma.
The former actor and comedian said: “We’re talking about sleaze, corruption, financial misdemeanours, and relationships between corporations, big business, and politicians — let’s face it, unless you’re bloody stupid, you know that’s going on all the time.
“For me, revelations that there are financial connections between energy companies in… Ukraine, energy companies in China, and the Biden family are troubling.
“That should be public knowledge.”
Mr Brand added: “And it’s even more troubling that Twitter, and Facebook and the media at large deliberately kept it out of the news because they didn’t want it to influence the election.”
Hunter Biden has repeatedly dismissed claims of unethical behavior.
In his upcoming book, the US President’s son said: “I have not done anything unethical and have never been charged with wrongdoing.
“What I do believe, in this current climate, is that it wouldn’t matter what I did or didn’t do. The attacks weren’t intended for me. They were meant to wound my dad.”
