The cranky Claus was working above a children’s rave when its smoke machine triggered a fire alarm.
Dad Adam Gaynor, at the Corn Exchange in St Ives, Cambs, said: “Everyone was clearing out. Santa came in and started shouting and swearing at people to leave. He was a disgrace.”
Rave DJ Stuart Wilkin said Santa was “raging” — probably at the thumping music — and the alarm “was the final straw”.
The DJ said there was no excuse for the for Santa's behaviour and the situation was "terrible" for everyone.
Others defended Santa for helping clear the building. But Adam said: “They didn’t see how upset the kids were.”
Organisers of the festive Grotto experience have apologised for 'any offence or distress caused to parents and children' but Adam took to social media to vent his concerns.
Adam said there was no need for Santa's bad attitude, and his irate reaction suggests "there is no way he should be allowed near children".
