Sarah Ferguson ‘left royals after toe sucking pic and Philip never forgave her’

In 1992, Sarah Ferguson was caught in a compromising position that sent shockwaves through the Royal Family and reportedly led to her banishment from The Firm.

The Duchess of York was pictured having her toes sucked on holiday – just months after her separation from Prince Andrew.

The scandal caused huge upset throughout the Royal Family, and reports say that Prince Philip was particularly enraged, with many experts claiming he never truly forgave her.

Sarah Ferguson married Prince Andrew in 1986, but their reportedly 'rocky' marriage lasted just six years before ending with the explosive scandal.

The couple announced they had made the decision to separate in March 1992.

But raunchy photos of Sarah, also lovingly known as 'Fergie', appeared on front pages across the country just five months later.

The images caught Fergie having her toes sucked and kissed by Texan millionaire John Bryan, thought to be her 'financial advisor' at the time, as they lazed by the pool.

Further photos also showed the couple embracing and kissing.

Princess Eugenie, who was just two at the time, was also snapped in one of the photos as she watched her mother kiss Mr Bryan.

The scandal was seen as an "embarrassment to the royal family" and experts claimed Prince Philip never truly forgave Fergie for the headlines.

Camilla Tominey from The Telegraph previously spoke on This Morning, saying: "The Queen has always given Sarah her time, and invited her to Balmoral with the girls every year because she thinks that Sarah has done a very good job of bringing them up.

"Prince Philip has never really forgiven Fergie for some of the unfortunate headlines of the past."

Tominey claimed that Prince Philip didn't want to be in the same place as her at all, The Mirror reports.

She added: "It used to be the case that when the Queen invited Fergie and the girls up to Balmoral, he would disappear and go to the Isle of Wight because he didn't want to be in the same place as her."

But admittedly this claim has melted slightly after both Sarah and Philip attended Eugenie and Beatrice's wedding.

The photos and bad press towards Fergie led to her eventual divorce with Prince Andrew in May 1996, four years after their separation.

Despite the scandals surrounding both the Duke and Duchess of York, the couple have reportedly remained close.

There have even been several inklings over the years that the pair may even remarry.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Sarah said: "We always say we are the most contented divorced couple in the world. We’re divorced to each other, not from each other.

"All I can say is that we’re happy with the way we are right now."
