Footage in the run-up to the attack shows a teenager riding a scooter down the road behind another young girl.

Police confirmed the second girl was also arrested as part of the early investigation but wasn't charged in relation to the attack.

The mum, who is five months pregnant with her third child, escaped with just minor cuts and bruises.

However, police were concerned because the woman landed on her stomach.

A short time later, police arrested an unnamed 15-year-old, alleging that she was the teenager in the footage.

Officers said she had been trying to steal the woman's handbag.

Footage of her arrest shows the teen swearing at officers, while other household members cry out in the background.

The girl was charged with one count of robbery and will appear at Geraldton Magistrates' Court on September 13.

Neighbours told The West Australian they were "disgusted" by the assault, with some mothers now too afraid to leave their homes.

"How does someone of that age have the audacity to do that… an adult with a pram, it's disgusting," one neighbour said.

"I've never witnessed or heard of any violence of that level here."
