Rochelle L Cressman, 32, was arrested after Pennsylvania cops were alerted by the alleged victim’s mum.
After being apprehended on Thursday, Cressman was later charged with ten counts of statutory sexual assault and involuntary deviate intercourse.
She was also charged with 42 counts of indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old, one count of unlawful contact with a minor, endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors.
Pennsylvania State Police also revealed Cressman was charged with making a terroristic threat.
It is alleged Cressman and the 14-year-old began a sexual relationship in September 2018, which ended in April 2019.
According to police documents, they had sex in multiple locations including a home in Springcreek Rd in Oil Creek Township and on North Martin Street in Titusville.
The alleged victim told investigators during an interview that he and Cressman had intercourse at least 10 times and had other sexual encounters, which were not expanded upon.
Titusville Area District’s superintendent said Cressman, a physical education teacher at a middle school in the area had not been employed there since April 12.
He added the school district would co-operate with the investigation.
The superintendent added the student assistance team was also available for parents and students who have concerns.
Cressman had started working at the named school since 2009.
It is the latest case where a US teacher has been arrested and charged on suspicion of having sex with a pupil.
In California, Jessica Marie Esparza, 28, was arrested on Monday and booked on suspicion of “lewd acts on a child”.
