London outlook for Thursday 6 Dec 2018 to Wed 19 Dec 2018

Unsettled weather but a mild, cloudy day with short periods of drizzle which will be mainly in the Southwest areas.  Afternoon sunshine will shine across northern Scotland with scattered showers touching the northern Isles. Friday will see gales and strong winds but the early rain will clear to blustery showers. On Saturday the winds will gradually slow give way as further rain comes in from teh west but Sunday will see the weather more settled.

UK outlook for the next 6-30 days

Monday 10 Dec 2018 to Wednesday 19 Dec 2018 for UK:

In the west the weather will start settled but wintry times could be coming in the east as scattered showers are likely. Slow moving weather patterns will start from the mid-week bringing showers and easterly winds to many parts of the country which could be colder away from the coastal areas.  Freezing fog and overt night frosting are also likely.  The west and northwest will see most of the wet and windy weather but the south will be affected by rain at times with a small chance of hill snow. The temperatures will be rather cold but likely milder in the west.

Thursday 20 Dec 2018 to Thursday 3 Jan 2019 for UK:

Over this period the weather will begin with a mix of settled, colder but drier conditions seeing overnight frost and fog. There is also a chance of wind and rain bringing with it the low risk of snow. Through the last week of December and Christmas the weather will likely be unsettled with wind and rain yet milder temperatures in the west and dry, cold weather in the east and southeast. For New Years the signs are unpredictable but there is a possible move back to slow moving patterns which could bring in periods of colder, unsettled weather.
