Trump blasts Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for ‘disrespecting Queen’

Former US president Donald Trump has hit out at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for how they have treated the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family over the past few years.

The former president told Nigel Farage during a GBNews interview that he did not respect what Prince Harry wrote in his memoir Spare.

Trump said: “I was actually surprised that Harry was invited (to the Coronation) to be honest. He said some terrible things…the book [Spare] was just…to me, it was horrible.”

Earlier this year, the royal family’s black sheep published a memoir, “Spare”, that made several damning allegations against members of the firm.

One of the most damning claims made in the book was that King Charles said to his wife Diana on the day of Harry's birth: "Wonderful! Now you've given me an heir and a spare – my work is done."

He said: "The 45th president of the US also said that he did not like Meghan Markle because of her treatment of the monarch, who passed away in early September at Balmoral Castle, Scotland.

“I think she [Meghan] has been very disrespectful to the Queen. How can you be so disrespectful to the Queen?

“She was incredible, for decades and decades she never made a mistake. I cannot think of a mistake she made, she was never controversial.

“She went through years and decades without controversy. You cannot be disrespectful to her and I think Meghan was very disrespectful to her, very disrespectful,” he added.

This is not the first time Trump has publicly condemned the Sussexes.

Last year in an interview with Piers Morgan, he said that their relationship has an expiry date, which will come when “Harry decides he’s had enough of being bossed around”.

“I’m not a fan of Meghan, and I wasn’t from the beginning. Poor Harry is being led around by his nose. And I think he’s an embarrassment,” he added.

Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties three years ago, claiming to have the Queen’s blessing to do so.

Since then, the Sussexes and the rest of the Firm have been slinging mud at each other, in an attempt to knock the other side down a peg.
