President Trump on Wednesday night told Wisconsin voters that Joe Biden “would absolutely eradicate your state’s economy” if he wins the election in November.
The president predicted at a rally in the city of Mosinee that four more years of a Trump presidency would bring a “quick return to record prosperity.”
Before the coronavirus pandemic, Trump said, “We built the greatest economy in the history of the world.”
“Biden would absolutely eradicate your state’s economy. I know your state well,” the president said.
Trump narrowly won Wisconsin in 2016 to become the first Republican presidential candidate to take the state since Ronald Reagan in 1984.
At Wednesday’s rally, Trump painted a stark picture of what he said the country would look like if Biden became president.
Biden and the Democrats, Trump said, would “ impose a $4 trillion dollar tax hike, ban American energy, confiscate your guns, shut down the economy, destroy your suburbs.”
Despite making his arguments, it appeared Trump didn’t need to sway the opinions of most attendees, many of whom were decked out in his campaign attire and shouted “four more years.”
