A woman was shot twice leaving a Brooklyn nightclub early Sunday morning, police said.
The 32-year-old was leaving El Gran Mar De Plata on Fulton Street in Cypress Hills just after 6 a.m., when a car with five people inside rolled to the front of the club and one of the occupants opened fire, police sources said.
The woman was shot in the buttocks and stomach, and was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, police said. It was not immediately clear if she was the intended target.
The venue’s head of security, who asked to remain anonymous, said the woman had been at the club all night before she left around 6 a.m. She was outside waiting for an Uber when shots rang out.
“Some car passed outside and shot the lady,” he said. The security head was inside the club at the time, but was notified after the incident happened.
“She was just lying there, nervous, saying, ‘I’ve been shot!’” he recalled. “When someone tried to move her, that’s when we saw the blood.”
Police later arrested the car occupants, law enforcement sources said. Charges against them were pending.
