ITV is set to bring a fresh twist to the beloved reality TV show Love Island with a new winter edition titled Love Island All Stars. This upcoming series aims to inject new life into the popular show by featuring fan-favourite contestants from previous seasons, who will gather in a Cape Town villa in South Africa. However, producers are also exploring the possibility of introducing unexpected elements to create excitement and drama.

As the casting process for Love Island All Stars gets underway, several former contestants have spoken out about their decisions not to participate in the new series. While some have opted to pass due to a desire to move forward from their Love Island experiences, others have cited different reasons for declining the opportunity.

Maura Higgins, a standout from season five of Love Island, revealed that she turned down an offer to join Love Island All Stars. In an interview with Goss.ie, Maura explained that she didn't want to revisit the past and preferred to focus on the future.

She stated: "I can’t see myself ever doing that again, no… I don’t really want to go back in time, I want to look to the future."

Maura has since ventured into hosting roles, including on Love Island USA.

Fresh off her second stint on the island, Kady McDermott also declined an offer to appear on Love Island All Stars. She appeared on Sam Thompson and Pete Wick’s Staying Relevant podcast, revealing that she had been asked to participate in the show but had decided against it.

She added: “I’ve had enough, I’m retired for the year. I’ll leave that one.”

Adam Collard, known for his appearances on the 2018 and 2022 series, was another to decline the chance to join the All Stars edition, sharing that participating in Love Island for a second time took a toll on his energy.

He told The Sun : “No I don’t think so because everyone needs to catch up. I’m one show ahead of everyone else. No to be honest, there is no inclination to do it right now.

“I think the second time very much took a lot of energy away from me.”

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, winner of the Love Island 2022 series, shared her thoughts on participating in Love Island All Stars. Speaking to MailOnline, the former winner said: “No I’m not doing that, no. To me Love Island is a one time thing and I’ve done that. I’ve had my experience and I loved it and that’s it for me.”

The star also appears to be back together with Love Island ex Davide Sanclimenti, after the pair split in June. Just months later, they are enjoying a lavish getaway together to celebrate Ekin's birthday.
