Sold twice and returned twice! Are you brave enough?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/29\/14\/74829655-12456591-Zoe_Elliott_Brown_from_East_Sussex_went_on_This_Morning_to_discu-a-10_1693316186886.jpg\" height=\"520\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Zoe Elliott-Brown, from East Sussex, went on This Morning to discuss her terrifying ordeal with the painting<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/29\/12\/74829653-12456591-image-a-35_1693308190216.jpg\" height=\"740\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Zoe bought the portrait, which features a young girl in a red dress glaring into the distance, from Hastings Advice Representation Centre (HARC) shop last month<\/p>\n<p>Zoe revealed that she thought there was something at the back of the painting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She also predicted that the art work had not been opened for years because of all the dust around the frame.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the painting freaked her out so much so that she refused to travel with it to the ITV studios, and it had to arrive separately.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zoe explained how she had come to own the painting, adding: &#8216;A man brought in and just didn&#8217;t say anything, he just left it there with some old frames.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;So they couldn&#8217;t speak to the original owner and nobody knows where it came from.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;And then another lady noted how creepy it looked and then she came back and bought it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Then she brought it back a couple of says later and noted that it had &#8220;ruined her life&#8221; and then I bought it.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>After buying the painting for \u00a320,\u00a0\u00a0Zoe took the painting home &#8211; but some members of her family weren&#8217;t impressed by the piece of artwork.<\/p>\n<p>She said their family dog Cilla, a Patterdale terrier, was &#8216;instantly growling&#8217; at the painting and &#8216;wouldn&#8217;t go anywhere near it&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shaken, Zoe said that she kept it wrapped up in her friend&#8217;s garden for the past couple of days.<\/p>\n<p>However\u00a0Zoe&#8217;s mother Jayne told her to get the painting inside because she doesn&#8217;t want &#8216;her to get cold.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zoe says her mother gets &#8216;really defensive&#8217; and she saw a myserious dark figure in front of her during a dog walk.<\/p>\n<p>After being chased by an unidentified &#8216;black figure,&#8217; Zoe said she took the painting back to the charity shop the next day.<\/p>\n<p>However she said the man did not want it there, and so placed it at the back of the shop.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Intrigued to see if anyone had been brave enough to buy the &#8216;twice returned&#8217; painting, Zoe returned to the charity shop but once there felt compelled to take it home with her again.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zoe says that although there is a signature in the corner of the artist, she cannot find any information about the painting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the future plans for the painting, Zoe said: &#8216;I just want someone who knows about it or can cleanse it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Because I don&#8217;t want someone to burn it or something for a laugh and then I&#8217;m left with whatever energy it&#8217;s left at my mum&#8217;s flat.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Andi\u00a0Peters, Zoe said: &#8216;I think you should open up the back, there&#8217;s something in there behind it and I don&#8217;t want to open it at my house.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Staff at This Morning decided to open the mysterious painting to see if there was anything suspicious lurking behind the glass.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, while there was nothing in particular behind the piece of art, the protective glass had an imprint of the painting on it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When held up to the light, the glass looked as though it has a black silhouette of the young girl on it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tilly, who opened the painting, said &#8216;it didn&#8217;t want to be opened&#8217;
