The first look teaser for the long-awaited Chicken Run<\/strong><\/em> sequel Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget <\/em><\/strong>has arrived!<\/p>\n

Netflix<\/strong> dropped the video on Tuesday (September 5), months ahead of the movie’s release on the streamer.<\/p>\n

In addition to the teaser trailer, they also revealed that the villainous character Mrs Tweedy is back, and so is the character’s original voice actress!<\/p>\n

Miranda Richardson<\/strong> is reprising her voice role of Mrs Tweedy, alongside her fellow OG co-stars Jane Horrocks<\/strong> (Babs), Lynn Ferguson<\/strong> (Mac) and Imelda Staunton<\/strong> (Bunty).<\/p>\n

\u201cThey say a movie is only as good as its villain and Ginger\u2019s nemesis, Mrs. Tweedy is one of the all-time greats. Now she\u2019s out to take industrial-scale revenge on all chicken-kind with the Dawn of the Nugget<\/em>,” director Sam Fell <\/strong>shared in a statement. “We\u2019ve had so much fun working with Miranda Richardson<\/strong> to transform Melisha Tweedy into the ultimate 1960\u2019s super-villain. Miranda<\/strong> has a unique understanding of drama and comedy, making you laugh while scaring the pants off you in the exact same moment.” <\/p>\n

Also newly announced as joining the cast is Peter Serafinowicz<\/strong> as the voice of Reginald Smith, a “humourless businessman and along with Tweedy poses a new and bigger threat to chicken-kind.”<\/p>\n

“Also rounding out our fantastic cast is Peter Serafinowicz<\/strong> playing Reginald Smith, a slightly bemused businessman visiting Mrs Tweedy\u2019s giant nugget factory,” the director said. “It takes a particular kind of comic genius to play the foil to Miranda Richardson<\/strong>\u2019s hilariously frightening archvillain. Peter pulls it off with effortless finesse.\u201d<\/p>\n

Here’s a synopsis for the upcoming sequel: Having pulled off a death-defying escape from Tweedy\u2019s farm, Ginger has finally found her dream \u2013 a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock, far from the dangers of the human world. When she and Rocky hatch a little girl called Molly, Ginger\u2019s happy ending seems complete. But back on the mainland the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat. For Ginger and her team, even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk \u2013 this time, they\u2019re breaking in!<\/p>\n

The stop-motion animated film also stars Thandiwe Newton<\/strong> as Ginger, Zachary Levi<\/strong> as Rocky, Bella Ramsey<\/strong> as Molly, David Bradley<\/strong> as Fowler, Romesh Ranganathan<\/strong> as Nick, Daniel Mays<\/strong> as Fetcher, Josie Sedgwick-Davies<\/strong> as Frizzle and Nick Mohammed<\/strong> as Dr. Fry.<\/p>\n
