But the fact I can do splits and high kicks is kind of like a party trick, if you do the Rumba or the Cha-Cha-Cha a really lovely Waltz and Tango that requires you to dance.”<\/p>\n Angela’s Strictly stint will come 47 years after she stunned the 27 million viewers of Morecambe and Wise’s 1976 Christmas special by emerging from her newsreader’s desk to perform a high-kicking dance routine.<\/p>\n This was during an era when journalists never ventured into light entertainment.<\/p>\n As for how she feels about being one of the older contestants in this year’s series, Angela truly feels that age is just a number.<\/p>\n “I don’t really think about my age very much. I really don’t,” she said.<\/p>\n “It’s a number on a piece of paper. As far as I’m concerned.<\/p>\n \u201cI have met a lot of older ladies saying, ‘Oh, we’re so pleased you’re doing this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
