Kate Garraway\u2019s friends are reportedly desperate for her to \u201cslow down\u201d, as the presenter has suffered “exhaustion” as of late, according to claims.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Good Morning Britain\u00a0host, 56, has been juggling her demanding job with caring for her husband Derek Draper, who requires round-the-clock care.<\/p>\n
Derek was in hospital for a year after first falling ill in March 2020\u00a0with Covid,\u00a0and has needed meticulous monitoring ever since.<\/p>\n
A source claimed to\u00a0OK!: \u201cKate is juggling too many balls. She likes to do everything herself when it comes to caring for Derek and doesn\u2019t want to put pressure on anyone else.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s barely sleeping so she\u2019s exhausted and has been working on automatic mode recently.<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n It took a phone call from the show\u2019s Dr Hilary Jones to get her to head straight to hospital.<\/p>\n She told The Sunday Times that she pushed back and said: \u201cI\u2019ll never get back in time to present the show,\u201d to which her editor replied: \u201cYou\u2019re not going to do the show.\u201d<\/p>\n She collapsed in the A&E department, where she immediately underwent an ECG and tests that revealed heart attack-related proteins in her blood.<\/p>\n A cardiologist informed her that she wasn\u2019t currently experiencing a heart attack, but that there was a definite issue.<\/p>\n When she returned 12 hours later, she was deemed not \u201cstrong enough\u201d to have a stressor test to find out more.<\/p>\n The scare followed two and a half years of stress and anxiety for Kate and her family.<\/p>\n Both she and her husband contracted Covid-19 in the early stages of the pandemic, but while her experience was mild, Derek\u2019s condition was so severe he was hospitalised for a year, placed in a medically-induced coma, and is now in a wheelchair.<\/p>\n The virus has led to brain inflammation, kidney failure, and significant damage to his liver and pancreas, as well as multiple instances of his heart stopping.<\/p>\n
