battle with sex addiction having slept with 90 women\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A Cambridge-educated doctor accused of having sex with multiple women at his GP surgery today apologised to former lovers and patients and admitted it was &#8216;a mess of my own making&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Tom Plimmer said he felt &#8216;ashamed&#8217; at having destroyed a string of women&#8217;s lives by &#8216;lying&#8217; and &#8216;cheating&#8217;, but blamed his addiction to sex for his actions.<\/p>\n<p>And the 40-year-old said he had never sought &#8216;power&#8217; over any of his lovers and insisted that every one of his sexual relationships had been consensual.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Plimmer \u2013 who the Daily Mail revealed has previously spoken openly about his battle with sex addiction and having 90 former lovers \u2013 is accused of inviting two women to the surgery in Swindon, Wiltshire for sex during working hours.<\/p>\n<p>He also allegedly swapped innuendo-filled messages with a female colleague before they embarked on weekly sexual encounters in his consulting room.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/19\/75699259-12546359-image-a-8_1695322346384.jpg\" height=\"930\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Dr Tom Plimmer, pictured on September 19, told of how he felt &#8216;ashamed&#8217; at having destroyed a string of women&#8217;s lives by &#8216;lying&#8217; and &#8216;cheating&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/19\/75699245-12546359-image-a-9_1695322349617.jpg\" height=\"634\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Dr Plimmer\u00a0is accused of inviting two women to the surgery in Swindon, Wiltshire for sex during working hours<\/p>\n<p>Giving evidence for the first time today, Dr Plimmer told a medical tribunal that the way he had treated women had been &#8216;disgusting&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I betrayed their trust, I disrespected them, I lied and cheated, and there&#8217;s no excuse,&#8217; he told the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I feel immense shame for everything I did.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Cross-examined by Mark Monaghan, counsel for the General Medical Council, Dr Plimmer admitted he was &#8216;guilty of creating a lot of the mess we&#8217;re here discussing&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>But he insisted he hadn&#8217;t &#8216;revelled&#8217; in upsetting the women or tried to &#8216;manipulate&#8217; them.<\/p>\n<p>Denying using his girlfriends for sex, Dr Plimmer insisted he had been seeking &#8216;companionship&#8217; \u2013 but admitted regularly cheating on them.<\/p>\n<h3>READ MORE:\u00a0How the Cambridge educated &#8216;sex addict&#8217; GP Thomas Plimmer confessed to sleeping with 90 women and not being faithful to a single one\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>Asked by Mr Monaghan if it was &#8216;normal&#8217; to be seeing three women at once, Dr Plimmer admitted it was &#8216;abnormal&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It was shameful and regrettable, and it&#8217;s ended up causing a lot of hurt to a lot of people, and it&#8217;s all my fault,&#8217; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Plimmer said the litany of deceit was a consequence of his self-confessed sex addiction, saying: &#8216;You will never see an active addict who isn&#8217;t also a liar.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The tribunal \u2013 which is taking place through online sessions \u2013 previously heard that Dr Plimmer lied about family members including his mother being ill while attempting to &#8216;juggle&#8217; his string of girlfriends.<\/p>\n<p>Today he said: &#8216;I sincerely apologise to the people I&#8217;ve lied to, my mum, brother, friends, colleagues, and of course the inadvertent consequences it&#8217;s had towards patients and being able to care for them.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier the Medical Practitioners Tribunal panel agreed to drop allegations that Dr Plimmer had sex with one of the women without her consent.<\/p>\n<p>It also dropped claims that he pinned the woman \u2013 who is one of those who reported him to the GMC &#8211; to a bed and shouted words to the effect of &#8216;don&#8217;t you f****** talk to anyone you f****** ****&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The move came following legal discussions after the woman, referred to as Miss D, declined to
