Friends star Matthew Perry dies aged 54<\/h3>\n

Just days after the shocking death of Matthew Perry, a 2004 interview where Jennifer Aniston breaks down over the \u201cidea of losing\u201d her Friends co-star has resurfaced.<\/p>\n

Matthew, who died at his home in Los Angeles from an apparent drowning in his hot tub, had been very open about his struggles with addiction to drugs and alcohol.<\/p>\n

Now, Jennifer\u2019s 2004 interview with Diane Sawyer has been all over social media as fans continue to try and wrap their heads around his death.<\/p>\n

Jennifer broke down in tears as she discussed her friend and co-star\u2019s “rough road”, years before his sudden death.<\/p>\n

Diane asked the actress what each of her Friends co-stars needed to hear. When it came to Matthew, she visibly struggled to find the right words.<\/p>\n

She told Diana that Matthew needed to know that he would be “alright”, then admitted that she and her co-stars were not \u201cequipped\u201d to handle the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn’t know. We, you know, we weren’t equipped, we weren’t – to deal with it. You know, nobody had ever dealt with that and, you know, the idea of even losing him,\u201d she said between tears. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe’s having a rough road, but he is alright.,\u201d she continued.<\/span><\/p>\n

Matthew himself also told Diane in a separate interview about a four-word warning during a break from filming Friends. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know you\u2019re drinking,\u201d Matthew said Jennifer told him.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, imagine how scary a moment that was,\u201d Matthew confessed about his co-star confronting him.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI should have been the toast of the town, but I was in a dark room meeting with nothing but drug dealers and completely alone,’ he added, in a reference to his addiction struggles.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
