the Household Support Fund?<\/h3>\n<p>The Household Support Fund was\u00a0launched in October\u00a02021 to help Brits pay their way through winter amid a cost of living crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Councils up and down the country got a slice of the \u00a3500million funding available to dish out to Brits in need.<\/p>\n<p>The help you can get varies depending on who your local council is, as well as your personal situation.<\/p>\n<p>But you may be able to get free cash and vouchers to help pay for things like heating your home or to cover the costs of your weekly grocery shop.<\/p>\n<p>If an applicant is already receiving benefits, these will not be affected by the HSF.<\/p>\n<p>And, you do not need to be getting benefits to receive vouchers or funds from the HSF.<\/p>\n<p>Find out more disability cost of living payment?<\/h3>\n<p>A \u00a3150 cost of living payment was paid to six million people with disabilities earlier this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The tax-free\u00a0cash\u00a0went out\u00a0between June 20 and July 4.<\/p>\n<p>A small number of people saw the \u00a3150 land in their accounts after July 4, however.<\/p>\n<p>This applied if you were awaiting confirmation of your eligibility for the qualifying\u00a0benefits\u00a0on April 1.<\/p>\n<p>You had to be receiving the below benefits to qualify for the \u00a3150 cost of living payment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Disability Living Allowance<\/li>\n<li>Personal Independence Payment<\/li>\n<li>Attendance Allowance<\/li>\n<li>Scottish Disability Benefits (Adult Disability Payment and Child Disability Payment)<\/li>\n<li>Armed Forces Independence Payment<\/li>\n<li>Constant Attendance Allowance<\/li>\n<li>War Pension Mobility Supplement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Can I work while on Universal Credit?<\/h3>\n<p>The government says that the flagship welfare system has been designed to help people get back into work.<\/p>\n<p>This means you can work as many hours as you want while claiming\u00a0benefits\u00a0but it may reduce the amount you get.<\/p>\n<p>This is due to your wages will be subject to the taper rate: for every \u00a31 you earn, your\u00a0Universal Credit\u00a0payment will go down 55p.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve got a job and a child who is dependent on you or you can\u2019t work due to an illness then you might be entitled to a work allowance.<\/p>\n<p>This is the amount you can earn every month before the taper rate kicks in.<\/p>\n<p>If you get help with your housing costs then this will be set at \u00a3344, or \u00a3573 if you don\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t get a work allowance then all of your benefits it replaced are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Child Tax Credit<\/li>\n<li>Housing Benefit<\/li>\n<li>Income Support<\/li>\n<li>Income-based Jobseeker\u2019s Allowance (JSA)<\/li>\n<li>Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)<\/li>\n<li>Working Tax Credit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What is the pensioner cost of living payment? <\/h3>\n<p>A \u00a3300 pensioner cost of living payment will also be made during the winter.<\/p>\n<p>If you were entitled to a Winter Fuel Payment for Winter 2023 to 2024, you will get the extra cash paid with your normal payment.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0full amount of Winter Fuel Payment &#8211; including the Pensioner Cost of Living Payment &#8211; you will get for winter 2023 to 2024 depends on when you were born and your circumstances during the qualifying dates.<\/p>\n<p>You can get a Winter Fuel Payment for winter 2023 to 2024 if you were born before 24 September 1957.<\/p>\n<p>A letter will be sent to you telling you how much Winter Fuel Payment you&#x27;ll get if you&#x27;re eligible.<\/p>\n<h3>Check if you are entitled to benefits<\/h3>\n<p>A number of\u00a0charities\u00a0have benefits calculators that you can use to work out if you are entitled to any extra help.<\/p>\n<p>This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turn2Us<\/li>\n<li>Policy in Practice<\/li>\n<li>EntitledTo<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#x27;s worth looking into as if you do qualify, it could make you eligible for the \u00a3900 cost of living payment too.<\/p>\n<p>Before you do use such a tool, you should make sure you have all the relevant paperwork to hand, including bank
