SKI holidays have been given a major boost – as bumper snowfall sees a budget airline offer 10 per cent off trips to the slopes.<\/p>\n

More than a metre of fresh snow has fallen in the Alps in the past week, with more on the way.<\/p>\n

Now no-frills UK airline Jet2 has knocked 10 per cent off flights to resorts including Chambery and Grenoble in France, Geneva in Switzerland and Salzburg in Austria.<\/p>\n

Popular destinations including Val Thorens, Davos, Zermatt and Verbier have opened weeks earlier to make the most of the autumn snow.<\/p>\n

Ski Solutions boss Ian McIlrath told Travel Weekly: "Storms have been piling into the Alps for the last two weeks,<\/p>\n

"Snow accumulations of more than 100cm are quite widespread now on the upper slopes.<\/p>\n

The good news for skiers comes after a flurry of problems at the big Alpine resorts over the past autumn.<\/p>\n

But those fears have now been banished by the bumper snowfall across the Alps.<\/p>\n

Local ski fanatic Heidi Gallay told AFP: "Everyone is waiting for this.<\/p>\n

"I\u2019m happy to be at Val Thorens to be able to enjoy the first snow."<\/p>\n
