This is the dramatic moment when two petrol station employees flee in terror as Hamas thugs riddle their shop with bullets.

Both men are caught on CCTV peering cautiously out of the door, after hearing gunshots outside on the morning of October 7 when the terrorists launched their bloody strike.

The camera then pans to the forecourt and catches the terrifying scene of a group of gun-toting Hamas terrorists advancing towards the petrol station, firing wildly.

Both men – one a Jew and the other a Muslim-Arab – turn and flee to the back of the petrol station near Ashkelon in southern Israel and hide in a freezer off camera.

There is a brief moment of panic as one man struggles with the key before they manage to open the door and escape towards the chiller unit.

The footage was compiled from various CCTV cameras at the petrol station and released by the owner Moris Atias and is time stamped 7.50am on October 7.

Finding the back door through which the men escaped, two terrorists kick it open but, realising they have fled, turn and head back into the shop – one causally helping himself to a mobile phone.

Not content with the phone, another helps himself to a display case of orange drinks, while others snatch handfuls of crisps, chocolate, and other food.

Owner Moris Atias, who was away at the time, told MailOnline:’ The two guys who were working there were lucky to get out of there alive.

‘They spent ninety minutes in the freezer at the back as the shooting went on and the terrorists stole whatever they liked.’

Mr Atias said he had watched the terrifying drama unfold as the cameras were linked to his phone.

He told MailOnline:’ I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, the two guys were terrified but they managed to survive.

‘They heard the shooting and then people shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ and went to see what was happening and that’s when they saw the terrorists running towards them.

‘They told me they had never been so scared in their lives, they ran to the back and stayed in the freezer for an hour and a half before coming out.

‘They only came out because they heard the voices of the Israeli soldiers who had come to the petrol station to check what had happened.

‘These people are just killers, they meant to kill my two employees and for what? They just don’t care about people’s lives.’

The petrol station is just a few minutes’ drive from the Nir Oz kibbutz where 180 of the 400 residents were either killed or kidnapped.
