A Place in the Sun: Danni Menzies wears striking pink dress
Former A Place In The Sun presenter Danni Menzies became one of millions to encounter trouble after the UK-wide air traffic control system was hit with a technical issue over Bank Holiday Weekend.
The Scottish star had been enjoying a holiday with pals in Mallorca and was due to fly home yesterday, alongside her pregnant pal.
Danni took to social media to vent about the situation, as she wrote on Twitter: “Flight cancelled today! After sitting on a plane for five hours…. Airport carnage in Mallorca.
“Any idea on how I can get home ASAP with my heavily pregnant friend before Thursday as our best friend is getting married Friday!!! HELP! @British_Airways @Iberia.”
She then joked: “Anyone with a super yacht in Palma fancy giving us a lift across the pond? @British_Airways are paying….”

Danni also shared her predicament with fans on Instagram, posting a selfie with her friends as they disembarked the plane. She captioned it: “Got on the plane for a four-hour chill… and then got off again…”
She then posted a group snap at dinner with the caption: “And now we’re stranded for the foreseeable.”
Danni later added that she was offered a flight in one week’s time to get back to London.
In her last update, the star pleaded with the airline to try and get her pregnant friend back to the UK.

She tweeted: “Good job I’m a regular at underpacking and so very good at washing my pants in the sink. Can’t say I’ve ever delivered a baby though. Can you at least get my pregnant pal home @British_Airways.
“I’ve never experienced anything like this in all my travels!
“Madness…. We have two pals on a ferry to Barcelona where they’ll fly to Paris and then Eurostar to London!
“Surely you’d think extra flights would be put on for all the stranded people?!” She finished.
I’ve booked a flight to Amsterdam Thurs then hopefully back to London.

British holidaymakers in Mallorca were left stranded overnight at Palma airport after a combination of technical difficulties with air traffic control in the UK and a violent storm in the region saw hundreds of customers’ flights cancelled and delayed.
The severe weather, along with a technical air control malfunction in the UK, has meant that flights are unable to depart.
A Sky News reporter said a flight from Mallorca had been diverted to France and passengers were stuck on the ground there waiting for more information.
Gale-force winds and torrential rain ripped through the island on Sunday, with 84 storm-related incidents reported in one hour alone.
