DailyMail.com has contacted Kidman’s representatives for comment.
Schumer made waves when she took to Instagram on Monday and shared a photo of the Australian actress, 56, wearing a pink dress and watching the match with her hand held beneath her chin.
Many fans appreciated the joke at Kidman’s expense, but others were not so impressed, taking to the comments to express their displeasure.
Later Schumer took to Instagram to make fun of it all: ‘I want to apologize to all the people I hurt posting a photo of Nicole Kidman and alluding to her being an alien.
‘I will be asking the cast of that 70s show to write letters advocating for my forgiveness.’ She added the hashtag ‘taking time to heal.’
‘Are you cyberbullying Oscar and Emmy winner Nicole Kidman right now?’ one follower wrote.
‘This post seems beneath you. What point are you trying to make here?’ another added.
‘She’s most likely uncomfortable because there’s a complete stranger recording her. That’s the look of annoyance and frustration leaking through the Botox,’ someone else offered sarcastically.

Another fan expressed disappointment in Schumer.
‘Wow so mean! I expected one of my favourite (sic) comediennes to have more respect for other people’s feelings than this,’ they said.
This same critic then replied with a long thread about beauty standards for ageing celebrity women.
‘Bringing others down is always a sign of our own internal insecurities anyway, so the critics here should hold a mirror,’ they wrote.
Another follower chided Schumer in the comments about the meanness of the joke.
‘Have always thought you were funny, seen all your specials, movies, read your book. But this selective mean girl public trolling stuff? No thanks,’ they remarked.
Kidman looked glamorous at the tennis in a chic suit that featured pocket detailing and three buttons.
She completed her look with a tailored white jacket and cream loafers, and kept her accessories to a minimum with a simple wrist watch.
The Moulin Rouge! star wore her strawberry blonde tresses in a low-maintenance side ponytail for the outing, and kept her makeup palette understated for the hottest ticket in town.
After Gauff’s triumphant win, Kidman took to Instagram to congratulate 19-year-old.
‘Congratulations Coco! Thank you US Open! Great Women’s Final 2023,’ she wrote beside footage shared to Instagram.
Gauff staged a brilliant comeback to claim the US Open, beating Sabalenka to emerge a 2-6 6-3 6-2 winner.

It comes after Schumer recently slammed celebrities for losing weight but not admitting to using Ozempic.
The actress told stars to ‘just stop hiding’ taking the diabetes drug during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in June.
The star also revealed her experiences on Ozempic, which made her ‘skinny’ and ‘sick’ – stopping her playing with son Gene, three.
She said: ‘You are on Ozempic or one of those things or you got work done. Just stop [hiding the use of the Type II diabetes drug].’
‘Be real with the people. When I got lipo, I said I got lipo.’
Schumer underwent liposuction in January 2022 and dropped to 170lbs.
The star revealed she took Ozempic ‘like a year ago’ and while she saw immediate results, semaglutode was not ‘livable’ as a weight-loss option.
‘I was one of those people that felt so sick and couldn’t play with my son,’ she said.
‘I was so skinny, and he’s throwing a ball at me, and [I couldn’t].’
