Love Island winner Jack Fincham has opened up on going through an incredibly difficult few years after becoming "addicted" to drugs.
As a result of his suffering, the reality TV star, who won the 2018 ITV2 series with his then-girlfriend Dani Dyer, has been through a rollercoaster over the last year. He has now been handed a 36-month driving ban after driving with cocaine in his system in the summer.
Speaking to The Sun about how his anxiety and fear had skyrocketed since he changed careers and shot to fame outside of the villa, Jack reportedly admitted that it was the risk of losing his life that made him check in to a rehab centre.
"Death was on the cards for me, it was imminent," the star shared. "If I had carried on how I was, even up to six months ago, I would definitely be dead.
"Without a shadow of a doubt," Jack explained, going on to say that he'd been in "denial" about his drug addiction.
Jack was admitted into The Haynes Clinic in Bedfordshire three years ago, in November 2020.
At that time, he was taking large daily quantities of xanax and diazepam and also taking Class A drugs such as cocaine during nights out and parties.
Unfortunately, when Jack attempted to go cold turkey from his daily pills, he would wake up with "crippling anxiety" and experience feelings of not wanting "to be here anymore", as well as experiencing hallucinations and cold sweats.
"I thought I'd rather be dead than feel like this. I take loads and loads of diazepam to literally escape the world and calm my brain down. You don't realise how physically addicted you get to stuff like xanax and diazepam. They ruined me. They absolutely ruined me."

Jack went on to tell the publication that when his mum and agent decided he was so far gone and they needed to intervene and send him to rehab, he didn't even know what was going on he was so "out of it".
The reality star recalled how his mum told him to pack a bag when he came downstairs and told him he could "go away for a little while," but he didn't clock until he got to the rehab centre.
While Jack said that the reason his repeated rehab stints "didn't work" was because he went in with an attitude that he wasn't "as bad" as some of the other addicts, he has been sober since August.
That month, the star was arrested by police for drug-driving, which investigations are still ongoing for.
Jack told the publication that he realised he had to "take responsibility" for his actions, and claims he has been clean ever since.
Jack, who is currently serving a ban from driving and is due to start working at a charity shop as part of community service, added that he's "glad" over what happened and the "mistakes" he's made because it's helped him readdress his life and choices.
The TV star, who has ADHD, is now back in therapy and attending Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
