Harry & Meghan: Netflix releases latest trailer for volume II
Rugby star Matt Dawson was among the millions of people around the world who sat down to watch Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell Netflix docuseries last December. While the former Question Of Sport team captain, 51, admitted he was initially unimpressed by ‘Harry and Meghan’, there was one line from the Duchess of Sussex which “completely changed” his perception.
He told Express.co.uk following the doc’s release: “Do you know what, myself and Elizabeth settled in [to watch the docuseries] and initially in the first 10 minutes I was thinking, ‘Oh no, this is like a woe is me type doc’.
“Anyway, I stuck with it and then there was one line from Meghan that absolutely and completely changed my perception.”
Matt then recounted that Meghan said: “The past six years of my life, books are written about our story from people who I don’t know.
“Doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”

Matt continued: “I just thought, do you know what, in your environment, if you are that way inclined. Everyone is going to have a view of Harry because he is sort of an adopted son to everybody because of what happened in the past, I sort of thought, ok, go with it.
“We all want to know what they are like, so why don’t we just get to see what they are like? It is what it is, but at least it’s in their voice.
“We are obviously all interested in it and we are getting those little nuggets that we wouldn’t have known before, so it has definitely served its purpose.”
Matt also urged royal fans to “separate” their concerns about Meghan and Harry’s “life now”, adding: “We are interested, the nature of us and the royal family is that we want to know what is going on and we are getting told from the horse’s mouth, so let’s embrace it and take it on board.”

In the month after the doc was released, it became Netflix’s second most successful documentary series ever.
However, new reports claim that the couple could risk losing their $100million deal if they don’t start producing more content for the streaming giant.
Royal Family expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Daily Express last month: “They have so far not done anything of real success, bar the six-hour documentary Harry and Meghan, which many found hypocritical because they were obsessed with privacy, though they will reportedly be adapting the romantic novel Meet Me At The Lake.
“So, depending on what success they have, they could lose the contract… There is an argument about them being a one-trick pony – what can they actually achieve that they haven’t before? We are yet to see signs of that.”
