David Beckham decided to whisk away his wife Victoria and tie the knot for a second time after those affair allegations made by Rebecca Loos back in 2003.
Better known as Posh Spice in the music world, who sung with the Spice Girls, the 49 year old recently made an appearance on talkshow Today with Hoda & Jenna to promote her footballing icon husband's new Netflix docuseries, which charts their infamous marital nightmare as well as his time playing in Manchester, Madrid and Paris.
"We were doing school on Monday and David said we had to go somewhere for the afternoon," she recalled, referring to how David 48, helped the couple get over Rebecca's incendiary newspaper interview.
"We land in London, get off the plane and were met by the same car that drove us on our wedding day. We got remarried with the priest that married us all those years ago! think how can this get any better? We get on the plane and we fly to Paris, where we had a 24-hour honeymoon and we stayed in Suite 302."
This comes after David himself confirmed their renewed vows during his 2017 episode of BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs.
"We have renewed our vows since [our first wedding]. It was a lot more private, about six people there in our house," he revealed.
Meanwhile, fashion designer and mum-of-four Victoria addresses the affair scandal in the streaming documentary too.
"It was the hardest period [for them as a couple] because it felt like the world was against us. Here’s the thing — we were against each other if I’m being completely honest. You know, up until Madrid sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other," she says, as reported by The Sun.
"But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either. And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me. It was a nightmare. It was an absolute circus — and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town right? Unless you’re in it."
Rebecca, who these days lives in Norway with her husband and two sons, subsequently shared her regret over coming out with the affair story during a chat to Sky.
"I don't expect any sympathy from Victoria at all. I think it's bad enough for me to do what I have done without me expecting any words of sympathy," she lamented at the time. "I really hope that they get through it… I in no way intended to break up their marriage, especially when there are young children involved. I hope they stay together."
Rumours suggest she was paid just south of £1m to unveil her story.
Speaking exclusively to OK! just this month, the 46-year-old Netherlands native told us she "made a lot of bad decisions, I trusted a lot of people I shouldn’t have".
