There’s nothing better than putting your feet up on a cold, dark autumn night and getting cosy with your favourite TV show, and no chilly evening is complete without the perfect pair of slippers.
For the last few years, Ugg has been cornering the market on cosy autumn slippers, with its Ugg Tasman Slippers, £100 here, being one of the must-have pairs for keeping your feet warm and toasty when the temperature drops.
Available in sizes 3-10 and coming in nine different colours with a thick fluffy sheepskin lining and a chunky sole, it's no wonder they’ve become an autumn essential.
However, their £100 price tag is definitely a stretch for most people’s budgets, and although they should last you years, it can still be quite a splurge.
Thankfully, budget-friendly brand Boohoo has just released its very own version that’s easier on your bank balance whilst still keeping your feet warm and snuggly.
The Embroidered Detailing Platform Slip On Cosy Mules, £22.40 here (was £28), have an almost identical look to the Ugg version, for almost £80 less.
Although you don’t get quite the same choice of colours – Boohoo’s are only available in grey and chestnut – you still get the same chic and cosy look of the more expensive version.
Unlike the Ugg pair, which are made with real sheep wool, Boohoo’s pair are vegan-friendly, with an ultra-fluffy faux sheepskin lining and faux suede outer material that helps keep you warm and gives you the same look, whilst also keeping the cost low and the slippers animal product free.
Boohoo’s Embroidered Detailing Platform Slip On Cosy Mules, £22.40 here (was £28), also have a similar embroidered trim around the opening to Ugg’s slippers, however the budget-friendly pair have swapped the chunky sole for a hefty platform that not only makes them look cool but also gives you a little extra warmth by keeping your feet off the ground.
If you’re after the added durability that real sheepskin and suede give you, Just Sheepskin’s Kara Sheepskin Clog Mule, £75 here, are a similar slip-on design and thick sole, as well as the classic chestnut colour to give you the Ugg look for less.
They also have a cosy sheepskin lining and an indoor/outdoor sole, which means it's up to you whether you keep them for your house slippers or hit the streets in them to stay cosy on the go.
If there’s one thing we’re not accepting this autumn it’s cold feet, so get your Embroidered Detailing Platform Slip On Cosy Mules, £22.40 here (was £28), now.
