The resurgence of 00s fashion is still in full swing, and alongside the return of low rise jeans, slogan T-shirts and coin belts, there’s another trend that’s officially back on our radar – Moon Boots.
Yep, the Y2k footwear favourite is officially making a comeback, with queen of cool Rihanna even being spotted in a pair earlier this year.
Whether you loved them or loathed them the first time around, there’s no denying that they’re the perfect thing for keeping your feet warm and cosy this autumn/winter thanks to their thick padded shell and rubber soles that keep your feet warm and dry no matter the weather.
The Moon Boot icon Low Shell And Faux Leather Snow Boots, £150 here, are stocked everywhere from Net-A-Porter to ASOS, and have proven to be so popular that they’re almost completely sold out.
If you missed out on getting your hands on a pair (or just couldn’t quite bring yourself to shell out £150), you’re in luck, because H&M has released its very own version.
The Warm-Lined Teddy Boots, £42.99 here, have the same exaggerated, oversized appearance as the classic Moon Boots, complete with chunky padding and thick soles that make the originals so iconic.
Unlike the classic Moon Boots, which have a shell and faux leather outer material, H&M’s version has a fluffy teddy outer which makes them extra warm and cosy, although admittedly makes them less waterproof than the originals.
They do however have a similar soft fluffy fabric inside that keeps your feet extra toasty against the cold, and a big platform with rubber soles that give you extra grip and keep your feet away from the chill.
The H&M Warm-Lined Teddy Boots, £42.99 here, also have the same ankle-high shaft, with lacing up the front and a loop at the back to give them an almost identical look to the Y2K-style Moon Boots at just a fraction of the price.
The boots come in sizes 2-9 with all sizes currently in stock on the H&M website, and you can choose from a winter-ready white/light greige colourway, or aclassic blackthat’s guaranteed to go with everything.
