After years and years of teasing it would happen, and getting greenlit back in May, ABC has finally premiered its long-awaited senior citizen season of “The Bachelor.”

Turner, the star of “The Golden Bachelor” is a widower with two granddaughters and two daughters. He married his high school sweetheart and had a wonderful life together for 43 years, but in 2017, she suddenly fell ill. Six years after her death, Turner is now ready to find love again — albeit, on reality TV.
When speaking to Variety, Turner said he didn’t have a say in casting, but admitted that he did give producers a “general range of age” for the women he’d be dating. “I think my answer was this,” Turner told Variety. “I think I said 60 to 70, but feel free to blur the lines.”
Asked if he truly believes it is possible to find love on television, Turner said he is hopeful. “At first, I thought, there’s no way. I was really skeptical. But as I’ve thought about it and I’ve seen the process evolve and so forth, I really do think it’s possible. So we’ll see.”
