SAVVY travellers are heading off on ‘Goldilocks’ holidays this autumn.

That means those holidays where the temperature isn't too hot or too cold – but you can still save the pennies.

Travel in October when weather is 'just right' compared to August heat – and you could save up to £ 600 per person.

Antalya, Turkey

The temperature in Antalya, Turkey is a sizzling 33C in August – but a lovely warm 25C still in October.

 And there are serious savings to be made too. We found a seven-night all-inclusive deal to the 4*  Flora Garden Hotel in Antalya with Jet2.com. 

 While August holidays were from £1,370pp, in October the price drops and starts from £804pp, departing October 7 and including 22kg luggage and transfers.

Cyprus

Another hot tip for autumn sunshine is the island of Cyprus.

While it soars to 30C in August, by September the temperature is a blissfully warm 26C.

But departing October 10, the price drops and you can enjoy stays from £808pp including 23kg luggage and transfers. That’s a saving of £507pp.

Costa del Sol, Spain

The Costa Del Sol is a perennial favourite and heading to Torremolinos in August, temperatures are 30C on average.

But come October, the sun is still shining and temperatures a balmy 24C.

 We found a great deal on the 4* Ocean House Costa del Sol  in Torremolinos with easyJet Holidays.

Seven nights B&B in August was from £1,250pp but you can head away in October from £992pp, including 23kg of hold luggage and transfers.

That’s a saving of £258pp.

The Algarve, Portugal

The blissful beaches of Portugal’s Algarve are a year-round favourite. And while August temperatures hit 32C, it’s still a welcoming 25C in October.

British Airways Holidays has great deals to the 5*  Pestana Alvor Praia Premium Beach & Golf Resort with August prices for seven nights’ B&B from £1,299.50.

But head away in October and you can enjoy the same holiday from just £877.50, departing October 7 and including 23kg luggage and transfers, a saving of £422pp.

Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt

And for guaranteed autumn sunshine, how about the golden shores of the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt?

Temperatures in August can reach a searing 38C but are a more manageable 32C in October.

Travel Republic has seven-night all-inclusive breaks in August from £1,519.50 at the 5* Savoy Sharm El Sheikh but travel in October a huge saving.
