A bloke who won a glamorous mansion in a draw was forced to flee after he learned it could topple into the sea.

Glen Elmy from Walsall won Stealth House, a swanky £3m home in north Devon, in an October 2021 Omaze draw and quickly moved in, eager to start his new life of luxury.

He said at the time: "I'm totally gobsmacked, the only thing we've ever won before was £3 at a Bingo night on holiday.

"We absolutely love the house – if I could have designed one from scratch, it would look just like this – it's like something from a Bond film."

But the foundry worker found out coastal erosion threatened to destroy the cliff his property was perched on and send it plummeting into the water below – so decided to abandon it just three days later, the Mail Online reports.

Neighbours who live nearby reckon the stunning home will be in the sea within five to ten years as a result of coastal erosion.

One source said: "I met the Mr Elmy when he was here for the publicity. He was apparently planning to stay for a week but left after three days and that was the last we saw of him.

"The corner of the house goes almost to the cliff edge, it's about two metres away from the edge."

Elmy has never returned to the house and it has now laid empty for close to two years.

Another neighbour chimed in: "I never see anybody going in or out since the win.

"There is a problem with coastal erosion all along the coast here. There are signs around the beach warning about falling rocks."

Elmy reportedly asked the fundraising for the cash equivalent of the property's value after finding out his posh pad could soon be no more.

Title deeds held by the Land Registry show Omaze Properties LLC bought Stealth House back in June 2021 – four months before Mr Elmy moved in – for £3.8million.

This suggests Omaze had not transferred legal ownership to the unlucky winner.

It is unclear whether Mr Elmy has since been offered a different prize instead of his apparently doomed home.

However, Omaze's terms and conditions state they can offer the winner a cash alternative or other prize.

The Daily Star has contacted Omaze UK for comment.
