Video appears to show IDF soldiers setting fire to property
Video footage showing what appears to be Israeli Defense Force (IDF) soldiers destroying property in Gaza has emerged. The IDF has now vowed to “take action” against anyone involved.
One video shows soldiers setting fire to items from the back of a lorry with a Palestinian number plate.
The lorry was holding water bottles and cardboard boxes.
A man can be heard saying they are in the Shejaiya neighbourhood in northern Gaza. He also says the video is being filmed on the second day of Hanukkah, which took place on Saturday, December 9.
The footage has not been independently verified.
A soldier then claims that he and his colleagues had found an entrance to Hamas’ infamous tunnel network.
In the second video, a soldier looks to be in a shop that sells stationary items and toys.
After seeing the two videos, the IDF said: “The IDF has taken action and will continue acting to identify misconduct and behaviour that does not align with the expected morals and values of IDF soldiers.
“The incidents will be reviewed and disciplinary measures will be taken regarding the soldiers involved.”
This comes after footage emerged last week of Palestinian men being rounded up, tied up and stripped in Gaza.
Men had their hands tied behind their backs and were blindfolded as IDF soldiers interrogated them.

Some of the men who were apprehended by IDF soldiers claimed they were beaten and denied food and water.
Addressing the video on Monday, IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said: “I want to address the documentation published in recent days in the media.
“The IDF forces operate according to the values and spirit of the IDF.
“Soldiers on the battlefield are required to act professionally and ethically and we will not compromise on this.”
