Woman’s body is found on Norfolk beach as police launch probe into how she died

A woman’s body has been found on a beach at Hunstanton, Norfolk Police said.
The woman’s death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of her death.
The force said officers were called to Seagate Road on Friday night at around 11.45pm after a person reported finding the as yet unidentified body on the beach opposite the Sea Life Centre.
A police cordon was in place until 10am on Saturday while initial enquiries were carried out and the woman’s body was recovered.

A spokesperson for Norfolk Police said: ‘Officers were called to Seagate Road at about 11.45pm after a member of the public reporting finding a body on the beach, opposite to the Sea Life Centre.
‘A police cordon was put in place while initial enquiries were carried out and the woman’s body was later recovered. The cordon was lifted around 10am this morning.
‘The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the cause of death. Officers have so far been unable to identify the woman and enquiries are ongoing.’
