Strictly star slams Zara McDermott and says she needs ‘a miracle’ to stay in this weekend

Strictly Come Dancing's former professional dancer Brendan Cole has opened up and brutally slammed former Love Island star Zara McDermott and said she needs a "miracle" to make it through the elimination this weekend.

Last weeks competition saw Zara McDermott and her pro dancer Graziano Di Prima in the bottom two couples along with Nikita Kanda and Gorka Márquez, who all danced for survival.

Zara and Graziano performed their Paso Doble to The Puss Suite from Puss In Boots, while Nikita and Gorka did their Jive to Kids In America from Clueless again in a bid to remain in the competition

All of the judges opted to save Zara, however Brendan has now claimed the star isn't going to progress "much further" in the dance competition, unless a "miracle happens".

Speaking to Sky Bingo, Brendan revealed: "I'm not expecting a lot [from Zara McDermott] because she's not a dancer. She doesn't feel it, she doesn't move as a dancer needs to, to create beauty. She's a beautiful girl, but she doesn't create beauty on the dance floor."

He continued: "She's not going to go too much further unless a miracle happens. There are a few in the bottom of the competition that are kind of hanging on.

"You can't have everybody being amazing and you've got your strugglers and you've got the ones that are pushing for the title."

As Zara was saved last week, that meant Nikita and Gorka were the second couple to leave the competition, after Les Dennis and Nancy Xu said their goodbyes the week before.

Speaking to host Tess Daly, a tearful Nikita said: "I don’t want to leave yet, I feel like I’ve let him down. I’ve had the best time and I love all my Strictly family. I’m going to miss you all.

"This has been a dream come true, I’m so grateful. I’ve got to say the biggest thankyou to Gorka, he has been the biggest support, and I’ve had the best time ever."

Gorka then added: "I am beyond proud of her, for someone that doesn’t have any dance experience or performance experience to come on this show and dance in front of millions of people – for three weeks, I think it’s incredible."

Zara and Graziano have been keeping their followers updated on their social media and appear to be getting on like a house on fire.

In some recent and hilarious updates, Zara was seen pulling a PR prank on her pro partner, as well as arguing about how to cook a pasta carbonara.
