You’ve been cooking Christmas dinner wrong – expert shares air fryer hack for 8

Cooking a Christmas dinner can be quite the faff – especially if you're catering for a big bunch.

From having to plan out a meticulous time schedule to keeping your guests happy while your potatoes roast away, the festive dinner can leave you feeling dizzy with stress. And let's not forget about the endless amount of washing up that demands you out of your post-Christmas dinner lull.

Although, cookware and small appliance brand Tefal might have the answer to your Xmas feast woes. They've revealed how you can cook a fuss-free Christmas nosh up for eight – and all in an air fryer.

The team at Tefal shared how to make the 'perfect' Christmas turkey dinner with using just the two drawers of its Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer & Grill. You'll be air frying the turkey in the large drawer, and the accompaniments in the smaller drawer one after the other.

So, want a cleaner kitchen and less of a hassle on Christmas Day? We've popped the handy air fryer recipe down below for you to have a go.

Turkey crown (2.4kg feeds eight people)

Cook time: 1 hour 50 minutes

Temperature: 180˚C

  1. Place the turkey crown in the large drawer
  2. Baste with stock every 30 minutes

  3. Cook for the first 35 minutes without tin foil to brown the skin
  4. Cover with tin foil for the remaining 75 minutes

Veg, pigs in blankets and roasties

For the smaller drawer, you should air fry the vegetables, potatoes, stuffing balls and mini pigs in blankets one after the other. The temperatures are mostly the same, but the times do slightly differ.

Roasted honey parsnips (fresh)

Cook time: 22 minutes

Temperature: 180˚C

Roasted honey parsnips (frozen)

Cook time: 35 minutes

Temperature: 180˚C

Lightly salted Brussels sprouts (whole and fresh)

Cook time: 15 minutes

Temperature: 180˚C

Mini pigs in blankets

Cook time: 10 minutes

Temperature: 180˚C

Stuffing balls

Cook time: 10 minutes

Temperature: 180˚C

Roast potatoes

Cook time: 30 minutes

Temperature: 200˚C

According to Tefal's recipe team, you should take the turkey crown out to rest and place the vegetables in the large drawer at 160˚C for around five minutes to make sure everything is warm. After that, Christmas dinner is served!
